The client wanted a tool to facilitate engagement management. I was part of the design team that created a tool for tracking engagements, calculating prices, managing documents, and effortlessly communicating with clients. The biggest challenge was understanding the complex workflows and requirements of consulting engagements while ensuring usability, scalability, and data security.

THE PROCESS
Turning complex workflows into simple tasks
- User Research and Requirements Gathering: Conducted interviews with consultants, partners, and project managers to understand their engagement management needs, pain points, and desired features. Identified key functionalities such as engagement tracking, pricing models, document storage, and reporting capabilities.
- Information Architecture and Data Modeling: Developed a structured information architecture that organized engagements by the client, project type, timeline, phases, and financial details.
- Features: Implemented features to track engagement progress, milestones, tasks, and deliverables, providing real-time visibility into project status and performance. Integrated pricing models and algorithms to calculate project costs, billing rates, resource allocations, and profitability metrics based on agreed-upon pricing arrangements.
- Agile Development: Agile methodologies to develop the AI assistant in sprints, allowing for continuous testing and refinement.
- UI/UX Design: Developed wireframes and prototypes based on the research findings. Crafted a visually appealing and consistent design language, including color schemes, typography, icons, and imagery.
